Here’s a quick Wikipedia blurb about the title track –

The title of London Calling evokes American radio newsman Edward R. Murrow’s catchphrase during World War II, and the title song announces that "...war is declared and battle come down…" It warns against expecting them to be saviours – "... now don’t look to us / Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust…" – draws a bleak picture of the times – "The ice age is coming, the sun’s zooming in / Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin" – but calls on their listeners to come out of their drugged stupor and take up the fight without constantly looking to London, or to The Clash themselves, for cues – "Forget it, brother, we can go it alone… Quit holding out and draw another breath… I don’t wanna shout / But while we were talking I saw you nodding out…" – finally asking, "After all this, won’t you give me a smile?"

Well, I am finally going to put up another poocast here on crapstack.net. It will be ‘London Calling’ by The Clash. I recorded it from my sweet, original Epic vinyl copy and now I just need to record my annoying voice and inject it in.

The Ramones

Sorry, my hosting provider (GoDaddy) has been crappin’ out on me over the past several hours, so the download may stop on you. I was able to download it in full on the third try, with my transfer rate keeping steady between 170 and 190kbps.

BTW - I recorded this from my 180g virgin vinyl copy, so it sounds really nice!

As for my next poocast, I have some ideas, but I’d definitely welcome any requests you-my valued members-care to make. Stay tuned for updates.

I finally got my mic cable, so the first official Poo-cast should be here sometime this weekend (as long as I can find the time to record some crap). The first episode will be "The Ramones" by The Ramones.
